Services

Angry Lamb Studios offers a full range of composition and production services

What We Do:

Angry Lamb Studios specializes in creating original music for a wide array of applications. In the past, we have: created remixes for record labels; composed music for advertising; scored for cartoons; written songs and performed re-recording mixing and ADR for film; and recorded background music for websites and retail stores.

Our greatest asset is that our songwriters/composers, studio musicians, and recording engineers are all located under one roof. We are able to take on a project from first concept to final production delivering only broadcast quality recordings to our clients.

Tracking

Recording (or Tracking) is the process of capturing data or translating information to a format stored on a storage medium often referred to as a record.

At Angry Lamb Studios, our Pro Tools HD3 rig, Apogee Converters, and Glyph hard drives ensure that the recording process is done at the highest level of sonic quality.

Mixing and Mastering

Mixing is used for sound recording, audio editing, and sound systems to balance the relative volume, frequency, and dynamic content of a number of sound sources. Usually, these sound sources are the different musical instruments or vocalists.

Angry Lamb Studios is the perfect place to take your sessions when you need to add some serious polish to your final mixes.

Mastering is the final phase of producing an album or song. It is the process of preparing and transferring recorded audio from a source containing the final mix to a data storage device (the master). One of the most important steps in this preparation is to "sweeten" audio to maximize the sound quality for its particular medium. This typically includes equalization, compression, limiting, and noise reduction of the final stereo mix.

Our mastering rig beautifully integrates the best of digital recording and processing with superior analogue stereo-summing to make your master a cut above the rest.

Demo Recording

Demo Recordings (shortened from the word "demonstration") are recorded for reference rather than for release. A demo is a way for musicians to approximate their ideas on tape or disc, and provide an example of those ideas to record labels, producers or other artists. Musicians often use demos as quick sketches to share with bandmates or arrangers; in other cases a songwriter might make a demo to send to artists in hopes of having the song professionally recorded, or a music publisher may need a simple recording for publishing or copyright purposes. Many unsigned bands and artists record demos in order to obtain a recording contract or to book shows.

Angry Lamb Studios provides it's clients with the highest level of audio quality. Songwriters and bands love us for our innovative recording techniques that allow us to record demos better, faster, easier, and cheaper than any other recording studio around.

Production

A Record Producer has many roles, among them are controlling the recording sessions, coaching and guiding the musicians, organizing and scheduling production budget and resources, and supervising the recording, mixing and mastering processes. This has been a major function of producers since the inception of sound recording.

Angry Lamb Studios' owner, Josh Pillbox, has the production experience and expertise necessary to make your next album or project a hit.

Composition

Re-recording Mixing, ADR, and Foley

Re-recording Mixing, guided by the director during the "final mix" of a film project, is the process of making creative decisions from moment to moment in each scene about not only how loud each major sound element (dialog, sound effects, and music) should be relative to each other, and also modifying individual sounds when desired by adjusting their loudness and spectral content, by adding artificial reverberation, and by placing sounds in the three dimensional space of the listening environment for a variety of venues and release formats.

Automated Dialogue Replacement or Additional Dialogue Recording (ADR) is a film sound technique involving the re-recording of dialogue after photography, also known as "looping" or a looping session.

At Angry Lamb Studios, our World-Class Microphones and Class-A, Discrete Pre-Amps deliver extreme clarity and our Post-Production experience guarentees your project's ADR will come to life.

Foley is a term used to describe a process of creating post-production sound effects for enhancing a soundtrack of a film, video, computer- or video-game or other multimedia work. "Foley" gets its name from Jack Donovan Foley (1891-1967), a sound editor at Universal Studios.
